Today's Conversation...

Mommy says to Daddy in the bathroom getting ready with Tegan "reading" her books:

M: Do I have to go Downtown with you today? (Toronto)

D: No, tomorrow now.

Tegan: I want to go Downtown today and buy Pumba.

(From the Lion King...the pig. We have Timone, we need Pumba.)

What to do for Father's Day?

So I have been complaining. And I think I have every right to. But I've been out hunting and looking and KNOW what I want to get Mark for Father's Day.
EVEN though, he got me NOTHING, and I'm mean NOTHING for Mother's Day. Not a card. Not flowers. Just an "I love you, Happy Mother's Day, sorry I'm going up to the cottage today and can't be with you two today" speel.

And even after I reminded him to get his OWN Mother flowers, he did not order me any. And even after I called his mother in Florida and wished HER a Happy Mother's Day, she retorted with "I'm not your Mother." So my feelings were hurt there too. But who cares. I'm just saying. It was a rotten day. And what about MY Mother? It's a sad day. I wish I could have had lunch with her and chatted about this and that. Instead of yelling at my daughter for this, that and the OTHER!

Now, I told Tegan in "confidence" what we were going to get Daddy for Father's Day. A new bicycle. So they could go out together. Y'see, I already got the child carrier at a yard sale (brand new!) and just need a bike from this century to put it on!
I tell him that night. "I already know what I'm getting you for Father's Day and I'm sure your going to love it!" And Tegan gasps for air to breath and blurts out "Yeah a BICYCLE! I go in my chair! And Mommy, YOU stay HERE!"

He laughed and thought it was a great idea. So I've been looking. Nothing spectacular, because he's not passionate about bikes at all. So your basic bike it is. For the amount he's ACTUALLY going to use it! Who are we kidding?

So let's hear your comments about my floppy Mother's Day. I've told him 3 different times now how awful it was. And he STILL doesn't buy me flowers! But girls, really. Even if I bought the flowers, I'd still bitch about it. And if he DID buy me flowers, it would be "because I made a big deal" so there's no real making up for it now is there?

Baby Bullet...

Okay, so my brother is a Dad...but to a four legged creature that nips a lot!
Tegan got to see Bullet a few weeks ago, when he was still with the litter and his Mommy. I must admit, he was the cutest out of the litter.

This past weekend she was reunited with "Boolet" as she calls him. And couldn't stop picking him up and trying to carry the poor fella.

She was facinated that he would pee IN the house and not outside. And repeat "Accident" with her face all crinkled up.

We ended up babysitting him for a few hours since Clint had to get ready for a fishing tournament, which required putting his boat in the water and all the fun stuff you don't want a puppy around for.

We took him to Aunt Wendy's so he could play with Remi. I didn't get any

photo's of us there. But he was gentle with him.

By the end of it, he was fast asleep on his belly. Legs spread out behind him.

Another facination. He's "Sleeping!" Shhh...

Doesn't it make you want to go out and get a Beagle??
His name is Bullet Boland. It's a mouth full! So you can call him B.B for short!

1st Salon Haircut!

Okay, so it was three weeks ago!
I went to my new salon where I'd been recommended to go. They are fantastic! It is EXACTLY like Steal Magnolia's with Julia Roberts and Sally Fields.

There are three ladies in there. The owner, the experienced one, and a young'n. They are next door to an Italian store, so at lunch they will go and get you a soup or dinner, cooked fresh, whatever you want. A cappuccino when you arrive, whatever U want. They are Polish but you'd think Italian, Mange Mange!

Everyone can hear and does have the same conversation! Even lunch time, they all take their breaks at the same time and we all sit in the waiting area with our hair spiked with colour and our cappuccinos!

Anyway, Tegan didn't get too far into the place. She sat on my lap in the waiting area. And because I have been cutting her hair now for 2 and a half years, it has finally gotten too layers and lopsided. It's hard to keep a kid still by yourself!

So she fixed her layers and made it all straight again! Took a whole 5 minutes! Then she got a luxurious chocolate the size of her hand when it was over. Even today, she will tell you a haircut comes with a "choc-lat"

In fact, she thought this lady had "choc-lat" in her hair. And wanted to taste it. She was thinking "What a waste!"

Okay, so it's been awhile...

But I've been sick! It was 2 weeks of coughing and hacking. And only on Saturday did I go to the Doctors and it's Bronchitis. It was inevidable that I would get it. Since Dad, Rhonda, Clint and Suzie had it.
Tegarino too was coughing and sick for 3 weeks before that. I took her to the Doctors and he said it was NOT Bronchitis. So I didn't think that I had it either. Now I'm wondering if I was a bad mother and didn't get a second opinion for my daughter.
So what's new: Well a major event happened around here last Thursday that I can't devulge on my blog about. So you'll have to call me for the details on that. Sorry!
But on the bright side, the weather has been great and our garden is blooming in both yards. Front and back. No idea what the hell Mark had planted last year. I just smiled and nodded. Over night it looks lush and beautiful. No colour though. Just green. And that's fine. Tonight he brought home a new Birch Tree since the one last year died. So it's OUTTA there.
Mark has been busy going up north every chance he can get to get this new cottage under way. We all went this past weekend and I got to go to Mark's golf clubs new Grand re-opening. Free drinks all night! I had 5 Martini's and had to be carried out of there. Then poured into our truck. I was pretty soggy to say the least. Funny thing though, my Bronchitis was gone!
Tegan played with Carson on Saturday:

Carson played at our house the weekend before:

They had fun!

Let's Go Buff-a-lo!!

Okay, so I'm sure ALL of you are consumed with NHL playoffs right? Right. That's what I thought. Yes, you are blessed.

Except for Suzie and me. Well, Suzie (my sister-in-law) is an all time hockey nut as my husband is...well, they did LIVE together. IN Buffalo. Anyway, I just sort of INherited the hobby.

But not tonight. My husband is super superstitious! I was laying on the couch, 'cause I'm sick. And had Lucy on the couch too, which is usually a No-No. And 9 seconds into the 1st period, BANG! Just what we needed, a GOAL! You see, our Round 2 Playoffs, have been a bit shitty. This round against the Ottawa Senators we've won zero games and you need to win 4 our of 7. Which means, THEY have 3 wins going INTO tonight's game.

All of the fans on t.v in Ottawa had brooms. Signaling a "Sweep" was going to happen tonight. But I'm guessing, there are a lot of brooms in garbage cans tonight all around the Capital.

So we get the first goal and then what. Well, we get 3! Then I get a phone call from my friend Kendra, who I'm babysitting her little guy this weekend. I get off the couch and go to the bedroom to talk. She's a quiet talker. Mark is always arguing with the Ref. Like he can HEAR him!

In the 10 minutes I'm on the phone. The Sens score 2 goals. Mark is livid with me. Adamant that I get off the phone. It's bad luck. Yatta yatta. So I go back to the couch and he's still mad. So I had to get off the phone and call her back during intermission. Geez.

Third period is about to start. Mark can't handle it anymore. He says he's going to go for a walk. Doesn't want to see the loss and how its all going to end. I tell him "No. Stick it out. And don't be so negative!" He was petting Lucy on the head so Hard, it reminded me of that book "Of Mice and Men", when Lenny killed the mouse! Ha! Poor Lucy!

If I got up to get a drink. I got scolded. If I got up for a snack I got 20 questions AND the third degree. Sounds fun I know!

Okay, so we win. Game over. So Exciting. Mark dashes out the door to go celebrate with his buddies and I left feeling used and abused. I don't think I've EVER felt like that before!

If you BELIEVE click on it! You'll need speakers!

A Long and Tiring Weekend

I don't even know if I spelled tiring right? But y'know what I mean.

It all began with Friday night's game in Buffalo. Which we won. This requires getting packed and toddler ready for the drive TO Buffalo and keep her busy for 5 twenty minute intervals. And I forgot the iPod her Best Auntie EVER gave her, with all Tegan's favorite movies on it.

Then we get home at 11:30 p.m and hustle to bed. At 7:30 a.m we are up and at'em and we don't want to be. Now we have to pack for a weekend OF packing up the cottage...AGAIN! It's now our 3rd weekend in a row. Suzie and I went up one week and stayed a couple of days then too. Seriously, enough already! I'm so used to packing now, even my eyes have started to lug their own luggage around too!

So we're off. Get to Muskoka by noon, feed us all, then hurry up and get ready for Rhonda's son Al's, wedding IN Huntsville. I swear, I so much as unlock the doors on my Yukon, and it groans "Where to NOW?"

I forgot hairspray at home, so I had nice curls, but that was a waste of time, since I don't have the spray. I tried calling next door, to see if any of those natural beauty Pollard girls would have such an item. Meanwhile, my husband is barking into my ear that we "don't have time!" and so, I went "oh natrel" myself. (He thought I was talking to Kendra in Port Carling...and we weren't going that way, when really, I was just a driveway away...HIGH YAAA! That's the sound Ms.Piggy makes when she's mad...also when I'm mad!)

We made it to the wedding with 10 minutes to spare. I took a lot of photo's. My dad drove Rhonda's Edsel in the wedding, and did Rhonda and Dad ever look good! I never thought of purple on my dad, as in shirt and tie, but hell, he looked stylish and guh-ud!! We left by midnight and got home at 1 a.m. Back roads. Wyndy, hilly, dark and deer infested. We were thankful to be home and fell into bed.

Do you realize how quickly 7:30 comes again? I practically needed toothpicks to pry open my eyes Sunday morning. I slept upstairs with Tegan and Mark slept downstairs in the cold. So I got the interrupted sleep of a toddler who was coming down with something.

Pink eye, sore throat, and a super D-Duper runny nose. Her nose was sore from all the wiping. And whiny! GOOD LOWRD!!

So Sunday was pack-a-thon day. Good day, got lots done. But then...the Sabres had the game of all games on. Do or Die Sunday at 2 p.m. Suzie kept packing because we kept scoring when she was not watching the game. So we kept her packing! I know, doesn't seem fair, but she taped the game at home, so she could watch it later!

It was a real nail biter! Suzie ran out of things to wrap, so she kept wrapping the same thing over and over! It happened to be our stuffed Moose Head, who's name is Morley. Everyone is to sign his hat upon entering the cottage! A fun guest book if you will! But by the time the game was done, it looked like a newspaper, bubble wrapped 747 plane under there! She even told Morley to "hold his breath!"

I stayed up long enough to watch Desperate Housewives and then we were all into our beds. And I had yet ANOTHER night of interrupted sleep!

Then guess what came? SEVEN THIRTY!! I looked like CRAP! And felt like it too. I tried the old "throw the books in the crib" trick. Keep her quiet and busy while I got a few more winks. But nope.

Now stumbling and shuffling my feet to get around, I find her and now we're up. It's cold and chilly outside of my warm cozy mass of bedding that kept me sleeping my half hour at a time. Where's the coffee? And the Kahlua!

Last day. Let's pack all we can. Box after box. In fact, Suzie did most of the packing today. I might have done 4 or 5 boxes, that's it. I was too busy with Tegan who was not feeling well at all. Happy to watch her movies though. We went outside to play for an hour too. If that.

After we left the cottage, we went to Bracebridge to consider a place for accommodations for this summer while we build. Give our vehicles a break from all the road running! No go though. Onto the next...

Tegan "asked" to go to bed tonight she was so zonked. She didn't nap today either. Didn't sleep on the way home. Only demanded "drink, treat, MOOOVIE". Which fell on deaf ears.

As I've been typing this blog, she's been up 5 times. I NEED to go to bed. So Good Night to y'all.

And by the way Alissa, I too have been busy on Facebook. It's interesting. I too feel like a stalker sometimes. Completely and totally just being nosey really..but I don't have time to talk about that...I need to go to bed. Maybe that'll be the next entry!

Packing up the Cot-taage...

As I was saying earlier, if you want to know how big Tegan is....
Well...she is either really flexible or SMALL enough to fit into a legal size packing box!

See for yourself!

"What'cha doin' IN there?"
