Getting Ready for My Par-TAY!
SO as most of you know, in fact over 156 of you know, my 30th Birthday Party is in full swing. Complete with a St. Patrick's Day Theme, since it's ON St.Paddy's Day! Well, not my birthday, it's on the 21st. The Par-TAY is on the 17th!
With 156 confirmed, this should be a Shin-Dig to remember. I just can't believe that there are this many people who are around, and that I KNOW, who have the time, to come to my party. I've always hated my birthday because it always fell on March Break. I'd have 4 out of 15 come to my party and let's just say....they sucked! Or when I was little, we were busy out of town at my brother's hockey tournaments, I'd have a cake and I wouldn't even know who the hell the people were singing to me.
There is a ton of things to do still. Most of which, is now out of my hands, and into the lap of my sister-in-law Suzie and my husbands. AND any of the volunteers, which, GOD help them, will have to work for Mark. Not with. But for. You all know what I'm saying...words of advice: Nod and smile and when he's not looking change it back! Bite your tongue till it bleeds and try not to smack'm! Good Luck!
I can't sleep at night! Last night, Mark and I were going over the speech I'm going to give. We even laughed at our own jokes! How pathetic! Don't worry, it'll be short and sweet. :)
Today, Tegan and I drove to Buffalo and picked Suzie up, and headed to the mall. I'm still not happy with my Birthday Outfit. It's the green shirt I bought. It's just throwing everything off. But it's so cute! And very VAVOOM, but I'm just not sure how to make it work... You see, with the hall only supposedly holding 120 people and 156 are confirmed, it's going to be tight. AND HOT. So all the nice long sleeved shirts I see, I can't choose. So I need a tee. I have an old zit problem on my upper back, and can't wear a tank top either. (Shh...don't tell anyone!) Unless it's super high. I don't even want to wear my hair up in case someone should get a good look and gag. Looks like scars...or a fire that someone put out with a pitch fork!
Guess you'll have to wait and see what I show up in...any bets on the green shirt??
Suzie got only a few hours of Tegan time today. We're practicing for Florida in another week. Busy trying to plan that too. Poor Suzie. She did good today, but she's going to have to pack the Tylenol ASAP! The repetitive children's songs, the loud screams for no reason, the patience of putting her shoes and socks on 4 times a day, and telling her "no" for movies and candy all day long. But every now and then she gives you something to erase all that with...an "I Love You", a kiss on the face, and a squeeze that'll decapitate you! Not much of a cuddler, but she means business when she DOES. Kindive...like Me!
We also had a 4 piece band from Toronto on order...on Friday we upped the anty. It's a 5 piece band! Which means, we now have the Saxophone player! We're SO pumped! I still can't believe this band actually said yes to playing in Bracebridge! I'm one lucky girl.
Apparently Suzie has some secret surprises for me too. I'm sure they will be very thoughtful and time consuming things. And Suzie: If your reading this...and the surprises are not what I think...for Heaven's Sake, I would NOT be upset! Let's face it...you are the most thoughtful person...most organized...most environmentally friendly...and gadget savvy, I've ever met! And that's not all you are, but I could be here all day describing how clever, and beautiful you are to all of cyber space!
So that's it. I'm going to sign off and try and read a book and let my mind relax. But it's so hard...tomorrow I'm going to get my hair done, then I wanted to get a tan, I need to go to Party Packagers, Costco and maybe hit another mall for the perfect pair of pants, to go with my perfect new pair of brown pointy toe boots, that have the scent of new, unworn leather! Sniff...Ahhhhhh! Moo!
Did I tell you it's Mark's birthday on Thursday?? 43. Yeah, so I have to bake a cake, wrap his gift, (which is a Buffalo Sabre Score Board electronic clock, including time, date and temperature gauge.) Suzie is coming up to celebrate and I need to make them a nice dinner, oh, and get him a card!
Whew. Did I tell you we were making Jello Shooters?? Friday or Saturday...and where?
Oy. And I'm not even Jewish!
