The Lion King
The previous week was her own movie Aunt Suzie made called Tegarino's Movie-roni! All about the first 2 years of her life...I hope she doesn't become obsessed with herself! Even cracks up at silly photo's of herself. Turkey!
This week's movie pick: The Lion King....on VHS!
So yes we have to REWIND it after every use! And FAST FORWARD the previews and to a toddler, well, that's just WAY too much work! And trying to EXPLAIN it to a toddler, is just a stupid idea.
Tegan's favorite parts:
The musical beginning with the sun coming up and the animals coming to see baby Simba.
The laughing Hyena's throughout the entire movie. She calls them "Fy-ena's."
Pumba the pig that "toots in the mooovie...tinks!" With her nose scrunched up.
When Timone (Nathan Lane) does the hula dance dressed in drag! (Mine too!)
And the absolute favorite thing is:
The "In the jungle" song. She'll sing "wimbo way wimbo way, wimbo way wimbo way" and then scrunch her face as she squeels out "Weeee eee ee" And that part is hard for ANY adult to do!
Honestly, she doesn't know her colours yet, in fact, we're kindive getting annoyed and worried with that. At Daycare, they say she really does know her colours, but will act "stupid" if you ask her what colour something is. For example: she'll say she wants the Orange one if you give her a chance to pick out of bunch of others. But if you ASK her what colour something is, she'll say another colour. Just so you correct her! And make a reaction. When do you diagnose colour blindness? 'Cause I feel she's having trouble with her dark colours....everything is still Blue.
AND she used to count great, and now it's the last 5 she'll count. And the ABC's are STILL not there. But she can "Name that Tune!" with all the movies! So we have to start giving her educational movies from now on....
We did rent the movie, "Once upon a Potty" and she liked it. So we'll keep playing that one over, once a day everyday for a week and see if she can gather anything from it!
We also got her a bug collection with a magnifying glass last night at Target. She's facinated with them. Let's see if she becomes an Entomologist in the future...that's a person who studies insects!
